I scream, you scream, we all scream for Banana “Ice Cream!” Except it’s not ice cream. It’s blended frozen fruit and milk that turns into this amazing, fluffy goodness. You honestly *think* your eating something fattening and delicious. This is my FAVORITE go-to healthy dessert. What’s not to like? Bananas, peanut butter…nom nom! I don’t know about you, but once a banana starts to get remotely brown..I cannot eat it! I used to toss em’ in the trash.
Then, a couple years I was watching an episode of Daniel Tiger with Carter. Daniel’s Mama made “Banana Swirl” from frozen bananas and cultured cream. Carter really wanted to try it! To my surprise, it was AMAZING!!! He loved it. Which was great because he’s always given me a hard time with bananas. This is so versatile. I used milk, not cream. You could use any fruit, mix in’s and toppings you want! (I want to try strawberries and Nutella next!)
Anyways, we made this today and I forgot how incredible it is. My boys seriously think they are eating ice cream. Doesn’t get any better than that!

Once the bananas are nice and frozen…here is what you need :

RECIPE:
Peanut Butter Banana Swirl
- 3-4 Ripe Bananas, frozen
- 1/2 cup-3/4 Milk
- 2 TBS Peanut Butter
- Toppings!
Blend frozen bananas until it resembles course crumbles. Add milk a little at a time until it’s all blended, soft and fluffy. You may need more milk or less, eyeball it! You want it like soft serve ice cream, not runny or watery. Add peanut butter and blend for another 30 seconds. Pour into bowl and enjoy 🙂
Frozen bananas are a staple around here… sometimes we even buy ones that are already brown just so we can throw them in the freezer right away! They’re REALLY good blended with chocolate soy milk!!!!!
